Most factory pages in this category say the same things. Advanced equipment. Strict quality control. Rich experience. None of it is checkable, which is why experienced buyers skip past it.
So this page is written differently. It lists what we actually build, to what specification, on which equipment, with which tolerances, and where the limits are. If a number matters to your decision, it is on this page. If we do not do something, that is here too.
Construction Specification
These are the numbers that determine whether a canopy survives its third year on a work truck.

Two notes on reading this table honestly.
The 500 kg roof figure is a static rating — parked load. Dynamic load while driving is substantially lower, as it is for every canopy on the market regardless of what the marketing says. Anyone quoting one number without stating which it is has not tested either.
IP67 describes the sealing system as built. It does not survive a bad installation. A shell clamped down unevenly will leak at the bulkhead no matter what it was rated at in the factory.

The Hilux, Navara and Shark entries matter more than they look. They indicate we tool for markets outside North America — Australia, Southeast Asia, South Africa, Latin America. A supplier whose entire fitment list is US-only will need new tooling the moment your market is not the US, and that setup cost lands on your first order.
How a Shell Is Built
Five stages. The order matters, because a defect caught at stage two costs one panel and a defect caught at stage five costs a unit.
1. Fitment definition
Before anything is cut, the bed is defined by measurement — rail height, stake pocket positions, bulkhead height relative to the side rails, tailgate geometry. Not by model name. Two trucks wearing the same badge in different model years and different markets can differ enough at the rails to move a door out of square.
2. CNC laser cutting
Sheet is cut to programmed geometry. The reason this matters commercially rather than technically: a shell is six or more panels, and every panel carries a small error. Cut by hand, those errors are random in size and direction. When several drift the same way, the assembled aperture is no longer square and the doors will not close evenly. Laser cutting makes the error small enough that it never accumulates into a fitment failure.
3. CNC press braking
Flat panels are formed into ribs and channels. This is structural, not styling — the formed geometry is what carries roof load. A roof that is a flat plate with crossbars bolted underneath is a different structural proposition from one where the load path is formed into the panel itself.
Edges at seal contact surfaces are folded here, producing a flat seat for the rubber. A seal pressed against a raw cut edge will hold for a while, then stop holding evenly.
4. TIG welding
Seams are welded continuously and fully penetrated. Spot welding leaves unbonded gaps between welds; those gaps concentrate stress and admit water. On a shell that spends its life absorbing chassis vibration, continuous seams are the difference between year three and year one.
5. Pretreatment and powder coat
Multi-stage: chemical wash, surface preparation, electrostatic powder application, oven cure. The pretreatment stages are the ones that decide corrosion outcomes. Powder sprayed onto an inadequately prepared surface looks identical on the day it ships and fails within two years in a salted-road market.
Why Fitment Fails, and What We Do About It
Fitment is the single most common complaint about imported canopies, and it is almost never a material problem. It is a tolerance-and-information problem.
Two failure modes, both preventable:
Tolerance stack-up in the factory. Addressed by CNC cutting and press braking, as above. This is our responsibility.
Wrong bed data at quotation. This one is shared. A quote issued against a model name alone is a guess, and the guess is discovered at the port. Before we quote a fitment we ask for model year, cab configuration, bed length, and photographs of the rails and stake pockets. Suppliers who skip this step are faster to quote and slower to resolve.
If a supplier — us or anyone else — quotes your fitment without asking those four things, that is the moment to slow down.
Inspection Points
Inspection stage placement matters more than inspection frequency. We check at three points:

The middle row is the one that separates factories. Final-stage-only inspection means every defect is discovered after cutting, welding and coating have already been paid for — at which point the commercial pressure is to ship it and hope.
We accept third-party pre-shipment inspection, and we will accommodate your inspector's schedule. If a supplier resists an independent inspector, you have learned something useful.

Our published retail range is $1,962 to $2,647 depending on model and bed length. That number is on our own storefront, which gives you a visible reference point when you build a margin model. Distributor pricing is quoted against SKU mix and volume.
What We Do Not Do
Stating this plainly saves both sides time.
- We do not make fiberglass or composite shells. Composite is mould-based manufacturing with per-platform tooling investment and an entirely different production discipline. If your programme needs a moulded composite cap, a metal fabrication plant is the wrong supplier and we will say so.
- We do not classify your goods. We supply alloy and temper designation, country of smelt and cast, per-component metal weight breakdown, and full construction specification. Which HTS line applies to your configuration is a determination for CBP and your broker, and it is worth a binding ruling before a programme rather than after.
- We do not tell every buyer to import directly. Below a certain volume the landed economics do not work, and we will say that rather than sell you a container.

What material and thickness do you build canopies from?
Aluminum canopies use a 3.0 mm frame with 2.0 mm skin panels. A manganese steel construction is also available for buyers prioritising impact resistance over weight. Frame and skin are specified separately because they do different structural jobs — the frame carries the roof load path and holds door apertures square, the skin resists denting.
What is the roof load rating?
500 kg static. Static rating means parked load, which covers a rooftop tent plus two occupants with margin. Dynamic load while driving is substantially lower on any canopy. Ask any supplier which figure they are quoting; a single unqualified number usually means neither has been tested.

Can I order a single sample before a volume order?
Yes. Single-unit samples are supplied before volume commitment. Use the sample for fitment verification on an actual vehicle and for installation timing with your own installer, not only for visual inspection.
What documentation do you provide for customs?

No. We are a metal fabrication operation — CNC cutting, press braking and TIG welding. Fiberglass and composite shells are mould-based manufacturing requiring per-platform tooling investment and a different production discipline. Buyers needing moulded composite caps are better served by a composite specialist.
